The process.
Full tear-off
We remove every layer down to the decking. No layering over old shingles — we want to see the wood.
Deck inspection and repair
We check every sheet of decking for soft spots, rot, and water damage. Anything compromised gets replaced before we go further.
Underlayment and ice-and-water shield
Synthetic underlayment across the full deck. Ice-and-water shield six feet up from the eave and in all valleys — code says three, we do six.
Drip edge and starter course
New aluminum drip edge on all eaves and rakes. Factory starter strip along the bottom edge for a clean, wind-resistant bond.
Shingle installation
GAF or IKO architectural shingles, nailed to manufacturer spec. Proper offset pattern, six nails per shingle in high-wind zones.
Flashing and details
New step flashing at walls, counter flashing where needed, new pipe boots, and valley treatment. The details are where leaks start.
Ridge cap and ventilation
Ridge vent across the full peak for proper attic airflow. Ridge cap shingles installed over top for a finished look.
Cleanup and magnetic sweep
Everything goes in the bin. We run a magnetic roller across the yard and driveway to catch stray nails. Your property should look better than when we arrived.

A full tear-off and re-roof in the GTA typically runs $8,000–$18,000 for a standard residential home, depending on the size (measured in roofing squares), pitch, number of layers to remove, and shingle choice.
